Andrew Gray for State House

Andrew Gray is running for re-election to continue representing Anchorage’s U-Med district in the Alaska House. Since first being elected in 2022, Andrew has built a reputation as a legislator who gets things done, working across party lines, focusing on practical solutions, and delivering results for Alaskans. 

Prior to joining the legislature, Andrew spent five years caring for Alaska’s veterans at the Alaska VA. He deployed overseas with the Alaska Army National Guard in 2019.* As treasurer of the Campbell Park Community Council, he took an active role in finding solutions to community problems. He co-founded the grassroots organization Anchorage Action, which has sought evidence-based solutions for homelessness and worked to shine a light on corruption in municipal government.

In the legislature, Andrew has been one of the most effective members of his class, sponsoring and advancing practical legislation on housing, public health, child protection, veterans’ issues, and government accountability. He currently serves as chair of the House Judiciary Committee, co-chair of the Joint Armed Services Committee, and a member of the House Majority Coalition. During his first term, he also co-chaired the bipartisan Freshmen Caucus, bringing together new legislators from across the political spectrum to focus on shared solutions.

Andrew hosts the East Anchorage Book Club Podcast where he interviews Alaskans of interest and provides legislative updates. Andrew, his husband Jay, and their son live in the Campbell Park Neighborhood, and their family attends the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. 

As a representative, Andrew is committed to protecting personal freedoms, standing up for public education, demanding fiscal responsibility, and building the strong, bipartisan working relationships Alaska needs.
